Interested in becoming an advocate for change by empowering the disadvantaged, closing the wealth gap, and helping direct money towards those who need it most?
This directory is for students interested in pursuing economically related opportunities throughout the Greater Philadelphia area during the academic year and/or summer terms, and is maintained by The Career & Civic Engagement Center.
The directory may be of interest to students with academic interests in economics, mathematics, and political science, though no specialty in any of these areas is required. All you need is a passion for social justice! The opportunities listed in this section focus on volunteer income tax assistance (VITA), supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP, or food stamps) enrollment, assisting small business owners, and educating the public about finances.
This listing is in no way exhaustive, so if you have participated in or know of other opportunities in this field that have not been listed, please let us know about it so that we may add it to the directory for the benefit of other students.
In addition, if you have further questions about an opportunity that may not have as much information available regarding specific opportunities, please contact us!
Don’t forget to check out our directories as well. Thank you for your time and interest!
